3. Connected
When it comes down to it, business (and life) is all about relationships. So staying in the know is key: whether it’s your client or customer’s work anniversary, a former colleague taking a new role, or an employee’s birthday. Enter Connected (part of the LinkedIn family of apps). The app keeps you up-to-date on important insights and updates of your network as well as gives you details on contacts you’re about to meet. These updates could be just what your small business needs to kickstart a conversation or rekindle an old work relationship.
Connected’s own description:

- Get notified about important updates in your network, like work anniversaries and new jobs – the perfect opportunity to say hello.
- Be prepared for who you’re meeting with today
- Discover what you have in common, so you know exactly how to start the conversation and make a great impression.
- Strengthen your relationships and open up future opportunities
- Get timely, relevant updates about the people who matter in your professional life by syncing your contacts on LinkedIn.
4. Trello
There was a time when my to-do list was tracked on various post-it notes, scattered across the office, home, and my bag. Not the most efficient way of managing important tasks or keeping my team aware. But now I use Trello to get things done. With mobile apps (and a desktop version too), Trello makes it easy to keep track of activities and projects, and also let’s you share and collectively tackle your to-do list with your team.
One of Trello’s biggest advantages its visual layout, which lets you quickly scan the status of your all your activities. Consider adding it to your toolkit to stay on top of your daily to-dos or to help manage larger projects such as product launches, website redesigns, or customer events.
Trello’s own description
- Trello is the free, flexible, and visual way to organize anything with anyone.
- Drop the lengthy email threads, out-of-date spreadsheets, no-longer-so-sticky notes, and clunky software for managing your projects. Trello lets you see everything about your project in a single glance.
Mobile apps will continue to transform where, and more importantly, how we work. The apps above are just few of the many available to help you and your small business get more done on the move. There’s no better time than now to start working mobile!
