The More You Learn, the More You Earn

small business learning tips

I started listening and taking notes on books that were easily accessible on either my iPhone or at Barnes & Noble – no excuses.

I was exposed to many different perspectives that challenged my own that I began to notice the progress I was making. I was able to pinpoint Formé’s strengths and weaknesses very clearly.

Key practice

For example, one of the books I listened to helped me realized that Formé needed a more effective business plan as we continued to grow rapidly.

Today, we are currently in the process of tweaking our business plan to cater to our new goals and trajectories. I’ll be the first to admit that change can be difficult, especially when you have been working in one field for so long, as I have in the medical field.

The reality is that new technology and younger generations have already put themselves ahead of the game, and it’s your responsibility to remain current and relevant. If you don’t take the time to at least try, you are doing a disservice to you, your team, and your clients.

By incorporating learning in your day, it will open your eyes to new ideas. Have an hour commute to work?

Listen to an audiobook. Waiting while in the doctor’s office?

Read an article that pertains to your business, or send videos of inspiration to friends and see how long it takes before they send you videos that could change your perspective. Learning does not have to include a syllabus and a rented textbook. Learning comes in all platforms, and it’s your responsibility to find the ones that work for you.
