Fashion is Alive and Well in Times Square New York! [Video]

Join us for some glamorous highlights from the Cenia New York fashion show hosted in the heart of NYC from NYFW!

It’s another inspiring Fashion Friday as we celebrate Hispanic Heritage month with Dominican Republic-born designer, Cenia Paredes. As President and Designer of her own brand, Cenia New York, Paredes made the challenging decision this fall to debut her breathtaking new collection right in the heart of Times Square, New York, with a high profile yet socially distanced runway show that lived up to the sparkle and excitement of a true New York Fashion Week (NYFW) (but with masks).

As a young girl from the countryside of the Dominican Republic, Paredes has worked hard to make her dreams come true.“If someone would have told me that my designs were going to be featured on the big screens of Times Square when I was a little girl with big dreams, from a very humble family living in the countryside, in the middle of nowhere in the Dominican Republic, I would have thought it was impossible.”

As her collection hit the crossroads of NYC for NYFW, Paredes says about the show – “Yesterday was proof that we, as humans have the inalienable right to pursue our dreams, no matter where we are from or how we look like.”

Catch some of the excitement of her September fashion show!

Paredes grew up in family dedicated almost entirely to the fine art of dress making. Cenia graduated Summa cum Laude from the prestigious Fashion Institute of Technology in 2004. She then worked in New York’s competitive Fashion District for various renowned brands, but always kept her dream of designing her own line as her ultimate goal. In 2009, Cenia launched her first ready to wear collection, a clothing line that not only represented her vision and design sensibility, but that would also embrace women’s diversity in all sizes and shapes.
Cenia blends inspiration from her Latin roots with her American influence to create a feminine look that appeals to today’s modern woman. Her sensibility for detail, choice of fabrication and her bold exclusive prints have set her apart as a raising star in New York’s fashion scene. The Cenia New York brand is a revolutionary, tasteful and sexy clothing line catering to women who celebrate their femininity and want to look radiant no matter what size or body type.
