Cesar Chavez Plants the Seeds of Comedic Success

He now directs, produces and finances stand-up comedy films for TV, producing such hits as “The Original Latin Divas of Comedy” and “The Hot Tamales Live.” Scott has been involved with more than 70 shows for the Showtime Networks.

In 2009 Scott created the LOL Comedy Festival (about to begin season five).
“In the beginning The LOL Comedy Festival was really just created as an excuse to film single and themed stand-up comedy special for broadcast”, said Scott. The first LOL Comedy Festival was produced at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles producing six specials including the “Hot Tamales Live,” all six premiered on the Showtime Network. Four years later the 4th annual LOL Comedy Festival was produced in San Bernardino at the California Theatre of the Performing Arts. The Festival was filmed over four days and produced eleven stand-up and themed comedy specials including Snoop Dogg presents the Bag girls of Comedy, Jay Mohr, Bill Bellamy and eight additional specials having premiered in 2012 and will premiere into 2013 on the Showtime Network.

His most recent specials include:

• “Snoop Dogg Presents The Bad Girls of Comedy”
• “Last Comic Standing” winner Felipe Esparza in “They’re Not Going to Laugh At You”
• Bobcat Goldthwait’s “You Don’t Look The Same Either”
• Bill Bellamy’s “Crazy Sexy Dirty”
• Jay Mohr’s “Funny For a Girl”
• Newcomer Steve Trevino’s “Grandpa Jose’s Son”
• Veteran comic Willie Barcena in “I Gotta Be Honest”
• Joan Rivers’ first special in 20 years: “Don’t Start With Me”
• Andrew Dice Clay’s comeback special and the controversial comedian’s first special in 17 years, which is scheduled to premiere on the Showtime Network on New Years Eve 2012

Other notable shows he has directed and produced include “Russell Peters Presents,” “Jon Lovitz Presents,” Tom Arnold’s “That’s My Story,” “Louie Anderson and Friends,” “Caroline Rhea and Friends” and Rita Rudner.

Through Payaso Productions and LOL Comedy, Scott has been instrumental in launching many careers and making a huge impact on the comedy world especially in bringing diversity to the small screen. He has directed and produced shows highlighting diversity including:
