Business Stress? Smile That Cosmic Smile
Latina leader

When a business or work situation is frustrating, smiling can actually make you feel better.

Professional challenges can be frustrating, even excruciating.

From searching for a job and negotiating compensation to dealing with deadlines or a tough boss, our emotions can take over causing us to react in ways that are not conducive to where we want to go or that we later regret.

When life has you in a tough spot, no matter what the circumstance, smiling the cosmic smile will generate instant positive emotions and set you on the track to a more satisfying result.

Smiling produces positive sensations and actually floods your entire body with endorphins, those “happy feeling” hormones, putting you in a heightened state of joy and satisfaction. And, the best part is that a smile is contagious! Not only does smiling make others around you smile, but it will also cause your whole body to smile.

Growing up with extremely wise parents has been a personal life blessing.

My dad taught me about the cosmic smile and I have been practicing and enjoying the benefits of this simple yet tremendously powerful tool for many years. He taught me that smiling can be purposeful and intentional.

We can’t always control our feelings or emotions like sadness, grief, anger and discontent. However, most of us can control the muscles of our face, which is all that is required to smile.

How to Smile the Cosmic Smile

Where does this cosmic smile come from? Maybe the heavens, a place where harmony between all aspects of life is ever-present, and lies within each of us in the depths of our being.

As we summon it to our lips we begin to feel its power instantly. Normally we smile because something happens or someone says something that pleases us.

The cosmic smile proves that smiling doesn’t have to result externally from something “pleasing.” By itself, when exercised purposefully, it can elevate our emotional state from the inside. Some might even say, the cosmic smile is possible because there is perfection in the universe!

The next time you find yourself in a difficult state of mind or heart, bring your attention to your mouth and curl your lips upward, exposing your teeth in a wide grin.

Notice how your entire body will begin to shift instantly as the energy pulsating through your body flows more effortlessly, allowing a positive thought to come into your mind and then another. Before you know it, you are on a completely different, more powerful path than you were before you started to smile.
