It's always great to have our eyes and ears open to international locales to see what's happening in the world of politics, culture, fashion, food.
It's always great to have our eyes and ears open to international locales to see what's happening in the world of politics, culture, fashion, food--it keeps us current and informed to share all of our insight with our retail partners that want to know what's going on in the world!
Today we'll take a quick visit to Ireland!
From the rocky countryside of Dingle in County Kerry which sits on the Atlantic coast overlooking the Blasket Islands--with its rugged terrain beaches, pubs that play live traditional music, shops with beautiful Irish wool sweaters and magnificent views of the ocean, pastoral sheep, and old stone settlements all the way to the country's capital of Dublin situated on the River Liffey with its mix of old world architecture and modern structures--it's a country with a rich heritage of old and modern.
The cute streets of Dingle along with the beautiful countryside that captures amazing vistas of ocean and sheep for miles. The ancient stone church, Gallarus Oratory. And it just wouldn't be Ireland without local wool sweaters!
The high contrast of green grass, blue waters, and grey stone and boulders is such a visual treat!
Next visit is to the lovely 19th century mansion, The Muckross House, in Killarney National Park (Kerry County). A visit inside shows elegant period style furniture for the land-owning class at the time. I'm more intrigued by the outer gardens!
Making our way to the gardens on this hazy spring day!
OK-OK...I know what you are all really interested in is the local food! Traditional treats!!
Fish and chips with mashed peas, shepard's (cottage) pie, and of course--some Guinness!
Next- more Ireland photos...
